“I have always been very active, very athletic and loved working out. Being fit did not come easy for me as I have obesity in my family but I always tried to work at it. When I would gain weight, I could usually set my mind to taking it back off, usually by yo yo dieting. I don’t think there is a diet out there I have not tried. Some worked, some didn’t. I am the mother of two kids and I worked hard to lose the weight after each was born. In fact, after my second daughter was born, I was working out, running, eating healthy and probably in the best shape of my life. 

Fast Forward to now, I am 52, big time into menopause. It seems like no matter what I do, what I eat, I put on 5 pounds every week. I eat when I am hungry, not hungry, bored, stressed, or just because. In the past year, I have had two unexpected surgeries that prevented me from working out- really even moving around much. I was also the caretaker of a terminally ill family member. Needless to say, working out was not my top priority. That has led me to gaining 35 pounds in the past year. I have tried to take it back off with some of my tried true diets that worked in the past to no avail. My head is in it, my body and metabolism are not cooperating. That is when I went to Temple Collective for another service and we started talking about semaglutide and what they can do. I left with it on my mind. So I started researching it, asking questions and really looked at the benefits it could have for me. That is what is leading me to my consultations with the nurse practitioner at Temple Collective tomorrow.
