Like Botox, dermal fillers have been FDA approved for cosmetic use since the 1980s. Dermal fillers can be used in a variety of places throughout the face to restore lost volume due to age, correct asymmetries, soften deep wrinkles and create contour and structure to certain areas. Unlike Botox, which is injected to weaken certain muscles that create wrinkles, dermal fillers can help fill in deep wrinkles that cannot be treated with Botox alone.
The dermal fillers we use at Temple Collective Medspa are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a natural substance we all already have in our bodies; This is what makes it so safe for your body to accept. With safety in mind, HA fillers are one of the only dermal fillers that have an antidote to dissolve them, if needed.
The cost of filler you need depends on your treatment area, the severity of volume loss, the desired outcome, and the type of dermal filler needed to correct your area of concern. This will be discussed between you and one of our highly trained nurse injectors to develop a treatment plan that is right for you.
Unlike Botox, the effect of dermal fillers are immediate and, depending on the type of filler you had, can last up to 2 years.
A degree of swelling and possible bruising should be expected after being injected with dermal fillers.
