What are they? How do they work?
Neurotoxins are injectable treatments designed to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly those caused by repetitive movements like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows. When injected into specific muscles, neurotoxins block the nerve signals that cause those muscles to contract. As the muscle relaxes, the overlying skin smooths out, creating a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
How soon will I see results, and how long will they last?
• Onset: Most people begin to see results within 3–5 days, with full effects typically visible by 7–14 days.
• Duration: Results generally last 3 to 4 months, though this can vary based on metabolism, activity level, and area treated.
How much does it cost?
At Temple, neurotoxin treatments are $15 per unit.
The total cost depends on:
• Number of areas being treated
• Size of each area
• Strength and movement of your facial muscles
Here’s a general guide to how many units are commonly used per area:
• Forehead lines: 10–26 units
• Frown lines (between eyebrows): 12–20 units
• Crow’s feet (around eyes): 6–12 units per side
